A bit of promo but only this once..for real
Hola,
take-it-to-the-street-poetry (that’s my poetry gig) is honored to be one of many fine entrants in
the Good Maker Art Everyday challenge. We are in the running in hopes of winning a $500 grant. That’s huge people, really huge! I tossed our hat into the ring for two reasons:
1) I have a project I am working on to collect words, thoughts, artwork, etc. from the soldiers so bravely fighting this war we are embroiled in. I know from personal experience that writing is an excellent way to release all of those thoughts & emotions and I want tittsp to be a publication that accepts and honors those words.
2) Since day one we have never taken so much as a penny to assist in publication or distribution. tittsp is 100% funded by me, Lynne. A $500 grant would allow us to publish these Vets words in an actual book format for distribution globally.
Ok, so now you know the how’s and why’s, we need your votes.
It’s free to vote, just point & click. (You do have to register @ Good but that’s good, right?)

From my editor/publisher chair, I thank you for reading and do hope you will support us so we can support our soldiers.
Thank you,
Lynne

Done!
That was fast.. Merci!!
me too!
thank you so much!!
Done it. After a bit of faffing around (!)
I used to love first world war poetry – so powerful.
good luck.
You might want to add a reminder about the deadline on here though? There’s only a week or so for people to vote.
Being a Vet, I love this idea.
Thank you Uncle.. I’m a vet as well and have spent many an hour at the VA Med Ctr here talking to the “boys” as they are young men returning from chaos in the sand.. They need a vehicle for their voices and I will be it.. your words are welcome as well..:-)
Lynne,
Wow. I hadn’t even thought of participating. Seriously! (“I know, right?”) I just think this idea is awesome because many people assume that the folks in the military are not creative, nor artistic. Some of the most creatively talented people I have ever met were in the military. You giving them this platform? It’s a good thing.
Uncle
Yes Uncle I am serious.. when I “founded” take-it-to-the-street-poetry last year I made a vow that everyone’s words (barring racism, hate mongering, etc) had validity. I held a small writers workshop at the VA rehab center last summer and the things these guys would write & draw blew me away. Such talent and honesty.. So yes, your words are welcome!!
This was a very wonderful post today. Thanks for sharing this. Have a great day.
Love writing? We would love for you to join us!
